1993: Taking a very exacting approach to metal fabrication—along with 20 years of experience—journeyman welder Barry Schaffer established Schaffer Specialty Welding as a one-man, sole proprietor job shop in a rented garage in Luck, WI.

1993: Taking a very exacting approach to metal fabrication—along with 20 years of experience—journeyman welder Barry Schaffer established Schaffer Specialty Welding as a one-man, sole proprietor job shop in a rented garage in Luck, WI.

1995: The expanding business incorporated, and Barry built a modest 3,200 sq. ft. facility in the Luck industrial park.

2002: As Schaffer approached its first decade in business, it required a new 20,500 sq. ft. building constructed in nearby Milltown.

2005: Schaffer’s aggressive growth regularly supported OEMs requiring large, heavy weldments. Schaffer expanded to 58,000 square feet.

2006: Schaffer established its Sheet Metal Fabrication division after setting a solid foothold in regional manufacturing.

2008: Schaffer Manufacturing became a second-generation enterprise when Steven Schaffer joins as the Lead of S&M, Finance and HR.

2010: The company designed and built a dedicated powder coating operation, Schaffer Finishing, located in Centuria, WI.

2014: Schaffer expanded its single-source by adding a 13,000 sq. ft. warehouse that houses the inventory management capability and an additional 12,000 sq. ft. for the powder coating operation.

In the same year, the company dramatically extended its laser cutting versatility and production capacity by adding a 5,000-watt fiber laser automated system.

2021: Company purchases 3 acres of undeveloped land adjacent to existing campus.

2023: Schaffer Manufacturing expands the sales and engineering office space, as well as acquires an additional 7k sq. ft of warehouse space.

2024: Steve and Anne Schaffer invest in an 8,000 sq. ft. childcare center, located at the heart of the Schaffer Mfg. campus, that will serve both employees and the community at large with a capacity of up to 115 children.

2025: Schaffer Manufacturing expands its campus to include an additional 30,000 sq ft of manufacturing space, reaching 110,000 sq ft.
